       and a closing Native American Flute Performance.
As an Educator: For spouse, family & friends, John facilitates a one-of-
       kind all-inclusive hands-on "play-shop" experience learning to play
       Native American Flute. Participants take home their own cedar flutes,
       Instruction Book, flute bag and CD.

John is an author, educator, musician and performer and has been playing and teaching professionally for the past 35 years, He is a member of the Music faculty at Scottsdale Community College, one of the only colleges in the USA located on an Indian reservation.

Includes: Native American Myths and Culture...The Origins of the Native American Flute...Its' history as a courting instrument, and its professed powers to soothe and heal...How learning to play this low-tech instrument can change a life, help manage stress, and provide relaxation in our high-tech world...and, What we can learn from our Ancestors about Music, Ourselves and the GIFT of the Flute.

Speaker Presentation Highlights

With his love and dedication to the Native American Flute John Vames has launched hundreds of people on "flute journeys" of their own with his classes, workshops, and self-instructional books. John holds a Masters degree in Music theory and performance from Northwestern University. He also teaches Classical and Jazz piano, clarinet, and sax and has performed with some of the top names in the entertainment industry.
