Jonah Thompson Navaho Flutes
Jonah crafts many different styles of flutes.
They are all made by his hand which amazes
me given the quantity that he produces. Most
popular and affordable are these
6 hole A
minor
crafted from Pine.
They measure 19"   long and are available in
colors of walnut, light cherry, and red oak.
Choice of animal totem in Horse, Turtle, Ram,
Buffalo, Eagle, Bear  or Wolf .    I use  them in
my
Beginner classes because they are
affordable, reliable and easy to play,
plus they very hardy and great for backpacking
They are made especially for me so rest
assured they are well tuned.

I have known Jonah Thompson for many
years.  He is my friend and a very talented
woodworker and flutemaker. He grew up on
the Navajo reservation in Kayenta, Arizona.
and belongs to the Coyote Pass and
Redhouse Clan of the Navajo people.  He
learned flutemaking from his Uncle,
another very talented man. Jonah attends
many pow-wows and art markets around the
Southwest to sell and share his flutes and
stories.  His  philosophy of flutemaking is
that the flute was given to the First People
as a Gift and the music is to be shared for
friendship, recreation and love.
